A breakdown of jewellery writing

My Role in the Project: The exhibition was display into 5 topics (Movement, Fantasy, Nature, Colour, Secret) and showcasing their relevant art pieces from the three institutions, Van Cleef & Arpels, the National Palace Museum, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. My task was to weave together these artifacts, elements, and craftsmanship, crafting a seamless narrative that breathes life into their story.

Artifacts and Jewelry Selection: The jewelry featured in these writing comes from a curated selection of works from three renowned institutions: Van Cleef & Arpels, the National Palace Museum, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

My writing process

Research: I conducted in-depth research on each object, delving into its name, year of creation, artist background, materials used, and historical context. I also explored the broader art historical trends of the period.

Insights: Through research, I sought to identify connections and stories that linked these diverse objects. Storytelling: Eventually, I use my storytelling and writing skills to weave these insights and highlights together with the overarching theme, creating a compelling narrative.

The Challenge: One challenge I faced was the varying level of detail of each artifact. Additionally, the reality of exhibition constraints meant that the final written piece would have limited space to convey the rich history of art surrounding these objects. As a result, the focus shifted towards a more descriptive approach that highlights the aesthetic qualities of the art pieces.
