A breakdown of travel writing

Background: Skyscanner APAC was growing in the region! I had the great opportunity to be one of the first batch of travel writers in the region to contribute to curating original content for the website and weekly newsletter.

What I do: I curated original travel accordingly within different pillars: evergreen, seasonal, and pitches. Asides from the evergreen and seasonal content, I pitched different topics and have received article being distributed as press release four times. Along with curating original content, I also chose visual, wrote description and keyword tags, managed CMS, and used the Jira system for project tracking.

My writing process:

// I primarily write travel tips, itineraries, gastronomy, and travel destinations in Asia and Europe, especially places outside of Asia to inspire our Asian travelers to explore the world. Some articles are based on personal experiences, while others are topics I've found interesting and proposed to the team.

// Research: I utilise Instagram and Pinterest to find inspiration and then compile my findings into coherent and fluent articles.

// Storytelling: I employ my storytelling and writing skills to create compelling narratives and inspire a desire to travel.

“The world is big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark.”
